Chef Doug Settle catering a farm to table dinner over open fire

Doug Settle is a Southern California based chef with nearly 20 years of hospitality experience. Tracing his roots to the foot hills of the Appalachian mountains where gardening, hunting and fishing are a lifestyle, proper sourcing and appreciation for those who grow, raise and harvest our food is a deeply ingrained passion. Alongside this Doug pairs a drive for leadership and training honed by a decade of working with San Diego’s finest chefs and restauranteurs.

Hearth & Harvest

A collaboration between a classically trained chef and a Certified Nutrition Specialist with a culinary back ground, Hearth and Harvest is the birth of a long imagined project by Doug and his Fiancé Abby.

From pop-up ingredient driven dinners at local farms to consulting for a future that tastes better and heals the mind and body, Doug and Abby showcase how these too worlds are much more closely related than we realize. “We’re all in search of the same thing, be it for different reasons. Both the culinary community and the wellness spaces just want the best ingredients.”

Interview with Bold Journey Magazine

“First and foremost I’d say I’m a chef. I’m in love with food and everything surrounding it! I always want to learn more about the ingredients, where they come from, what makes them special, how they’re grown, raised or produced. When a farmer, rancher or producer is excited about something they’ve poured their heart into I feed into that energy, I can’t wait to showcase it and tell their story on a menu or to intrigued guests.”
